Building a fresh puzzle…
A new set every day at midnight. Solve one each day to build its streak. One crown grows from 7×7 on Monday to 10×10 on Sunday.
Place crowns so that every row, every column and every outlined region holds the same number of them: one in the One crown puzzles, two or three in the bigger ones. Crowns may never touch, not even at a corner.
Each puzzle has exactly one solution, and the built-in solver checks that it can be reached by reasoning alone, with no guessing. Difficulty is set by the hardest kind of reasoning the puzzle needs.
Crowns is a classic logic puzzle known as Star Battle, created by Hans Eendebak for the 2003 World Puzzle Championship. Here the stars are crowns.
